Niger Tornadoes' Gabriel Wassa has thanked the fans for playing a crucial role as they escaped relegation to the lower league.
Wassa was on target as Ikon Allah Boys spanked MFM FC 3-1 in a relegation battle on Sunday.
"I can't explain how happy I am and for the fact that we escaped relegation. All glory goes to God," Wassa told SKYSPORT
"The pressure we faced is over and we can now play in a relaxed mood when we travel to Kano for last match against Kano Pillars.
"Our home matches took place in Lokoja. The support from people in
this town was massive throughout and we needed to show our gratitude. We
didn't feel the effect of playing away from the Bako Kontagora Stadium.
"They aren't a bad side. They gave us a good fight but we showed that
we wanted the points the more. I wish them the best as they battle to
stay in the division."
